PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW
This is a group dedicated to the work of setting up and implementing (after approval by board) specific project/projects during this anniversary year of IAAA to
highlight and celebrate, through our space art talents
, women in space and space exploration and their accomplishments.
The work of women space artists clearly falls within the category “women who contribute to space exploration". One of the suggested possible projects was to highlight the work of women space artists.
Any action on that item will be open to artworks by our women members regardless of their involvement in setting up this project.
If there have been communications where the original purpose has gotten muted, my sincere apologies.
Please feel free to step back if this isnt something you want to add to your plate right now.
It will largely be admin/work stuff.
Below is the original focus taken from when we started the ball rolling, I hope this clarify things…
From Aldo:
"I’m thinking we could pursue a Women in Space Art project next year as part of our 40th anniversary.
- As a minimum, a comprehensive article could be written for Pulsar as Robin suggests.
- We could probably get that article republished in the National Space Society’s Ad Astra magazine, Astronomy Magazine, The Planetary Report, etc.
- We could do presentations/podcasts at a variety of venues.
- We could create an online gallery highlighting the work of Women Space Artists.
- We could encourage the creation of new artwork that highlights the contributions of women to humanity’s efforts to become a spacefaring culture.
- We could pursue collaboration with women in Space-related STEM professions outside of the Tribe, who would be willing to support and promote our efforts, as Mikey has suggested."
Our potential projects need not be limited to or include the above. These are just ideas generated from the kernel of the idea setting a tone or line of thought.
