I am starting a new initiative to highlight the opportunities we see when we encourage incorporating Science and Technology within the Arts. I will be calling it stARTS. For now I will just put a pin in this with lehrers 'the elements'. More to come later #stARTS

I create my art using multiple media, in steps. I begin with a sketch which I slowly build, then repeated rotations between adding detail with a Wacom tablet, and then printed back out for more hand sketching. I often then transfer the sketch to art board at that point. I add oil paint glazing as appropriate for effect.
My compositions incorporate a human element to the subject of space, in a traditional, realistic form. I want to make the human connection, the emotion REAL. Art is a perfect way to share enthusiasm and effort, and how space exploration causes us to strive for our highest ideals, and test our boundaries as a joined humanity; not as separate peoples. Several of my pieces have been accepted for the juried Art of Planetary Science art show , frequented My art and illustrations have been featured in publications by Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Times Publishing in Virginia, Feral Cat Publishing, and have frequently been featured in Trend & Tradition magazine. My art education includes CalArts (California Institute of the Arts) graphic design certificate, Art Techniques & Appreciation through Saylor Academy, and independent classes such as Narrative Concept Art instructed by Jama Jurabaev, a major artist for the film industry. |
